Silvia Radu urged young people to call services provided by Youth Friendly Centers

The Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection, Silvia Radu, together with the representatives of the Youth Clinics Health Centers, discussed today with the students of the "Ion Creanga" Theoretical High School in Chisinau about the opportunities and specialized support that young people can benefit in order to prevent certain problematic situations from life, within the Youth Friendly Health Centers, developed throughout the country.
Within the 41 Centers, more than 250 health and social professionals (psychologists, social workers, gynecologists, urologists, andrologists, dermatologists and HIV/SIDA counselors) provide free support to young people, free of charge the environment they come from, the problems they have, the states they live in, their ethnicity or the language they speak.
"I urge you to take advantage of this opportunity, to come to these Centers, where you will always find a family atmosphere, a friendly environment and solutions to your problems. When you have a problem, ask for advice from the Youth Clinic specialists. Talk to them, do not close in yourself, do not be afraid of this. Learn, inform yourself and you can overcome the obstacles your age gives you", said Silvia Radu.
The activity of the centers focuses on three directions:
- Activities to promote adolescent health and development, focusing on primary prevention;
- Integrated medical services with psychosocial assistance;
- Out-reach services for vulnerable and vulnerable young people.
"A major objective of the Centers is to promote health and prevent issues of major public health impact, such as sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, adolescence pregnancy, puberty development disorder, psychoactive substance use, psychological disorders -emoţionale. One of our values is confidentiality, so young people can call our specialists anytime", said Galina Lesco, president of Youth Klinic Youth Health Centers.
We mention that the Youth Klinic youth friendly network is the successor of the Neovita Center, created in 2002, with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, in response to the health problems with which young people face. Every year, over 200,000 young people, specialists and parents benefit from information and education activities organized by the Youth Klinic Network.
