Some pupils might start receiving driver's licenses at graduation
Future automotive mechanics, engineers and drivers, who are studying in professional schools might receive driver's licenses at graduation.
According to a project of the Ministry of Education, courses for driver's licenses will be included in the curriculum. It will eliminate the necessity of pupils attending driving lessons.
"Pupils who attend driving lessons during school can sometimes miss classes, which causes discomfort for the teacher, the student and the system. We decided that all professional schools will have the chance to offer driving lessons to their pupils", head of Professional Education Department, of the Ministry of Education, Silviu Gîncă said.
"We have vehicle, only need to hire teachers. We are basically ready to offer the courses" director of Center for Excellence in Transport, Boris Rusu said.
For those driving lessons, students will only have to pay for the fuel. The news made pupils from Center for Excellence in Transport happy, as they will be able to save both time and money.
"This will be of great help to all students. They will no longer need to waste their time."
"We will no longer need to skip classes without a reason to gain a driver's license."
"First of all you save much time."
Some pupils who already gained their driver's license claim that they spend to 5 000 lei for one.
"I studied for three months and spent 1 500 lei only for the road each month. Paying 5 000 lei for the lessons alone is expensive."
Directors of driving schools claim that this will not affect them.
"Of course this initiative will greatly help such educational institutions, as long as they have proper attitude and qualified teachers" director of driving school, Artur Cecan said.
In Moldova over 16 000 students are attending driving lessons.
