The meal vouchers, to be given away free by employers, will represent a significant addition to the salary and won’t be taxed. The employees will be able to buy food with them. It’s a system working for years in the European countries. The statements have been made by the Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu.
The meal voucher system has been discussed today with unions, employers union and companies.
"It’s a supplement to the salary: 45 lei a day, that’s 900 lei a month. But we may increase it. It’s an initiative also linked to fighting salaries in envelope, but implies VAT incomes to the state budget. We want to find political will to vote this law in this session," Andrian Candu said.
