Special meeting at Parliament: Government presents its accountability towards Legislative
The Parliament gathered in a special meeting. During it the prime minister Pavel Filip presented the report on the accountability of the Government in front of Legislative for seven draft laws, agreed with the International Monetary Fund.
According to procedure, after presenting the report on Government accountability for seven draft laws, the deputies have 72 hours for applying the censure motion. This has been announced by the speaker Andrian Candu.
“According to today’s procedure, declarations, questions, speeches are not accepted. It is 10:25, 27 September 2016. Since this moment there are 72 hours for the appliance of censure motion to the secretariat until 10:25 on 30 September 2016. In the situation when the censure motion will be applied, the Permanent Bureau will be gathered” declared the president of Parliament, Andrian Candu.
PUBLIKA.MD reminds that yesterday, 26 September 2016, the Ministers Cabinet gathered in a special meeting in order to take a series of decisions of great importance. The prime minister Pavel Filip explained the necessity of the gathering of the named meeting through the wish to continue that decided actions in the reforming of some strategic fields, the strengthening of the economic and social stability of the state, also taking into account the work agenda agreed with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in order to obtain the approval of the financing agreement at the meeting in October 2016.
Thus, the Government took the decision to take the responsibility in front of Parliament for seven laws. They are laws of great importance which are targeting the strengthening and cleaning of banking sector, so that there won’t be situations like in the past, and there are laws on state budget.
“All these laws have been adopted in the formula validated by the IMF, we worked together with them, including until today morning, and the way of approving these laws through taking the responsibility was coordinated with those from the International Monetary Fund, and with the parliamentary majority. We are in the situation to go on taking the responsibility only because we do not have much time, or if we go with the classic formula, that would mean that we would lose another few weeks” declared Pavel Filip, mentioning that Moldova cannot allow this if it want the unblocking of EU financing.
The prime minister added that the taking of the responsibility is supported by most of parliamentarians.
