The story of the tree fell on the square of the National Biblioteque from the Capital during the last year's snowfall was finished. Several young enthusiasts have transformed the huge trunk of the tree into elements of urban furniture. The volunteers have built recreational banquets for passers-by, a table and bicycle parking.
"It is a work of art, draws attention and it is a good thing that it is placed in public. It is an initiative that brings a bit of European spirit to our country."
"Look at the color, the structure, the designer can not think of it, only nature can do that. The young people are very brave, I wish them success."
The creation of the six banks in front of the National Library was made by several sculptors, including Pavel Obreja and Andrei Zbanca. The young people were guided by the lecturer of the Technical University Mihai Stamati.
"Somehow the tree has been prone to this project because after the snow in April 2017 it has long been shot down in front of the National Library. I said that from this tree something can be done that stays exactly where it grew up."
The director of the library was pleasantly surprised by the young gesture. Elena Pintilie said the institution's square needed a refreshment.
"I very much appreciate this initiative by Mihai Stamati to turn a urban tree into a city square, a resting place, a place of creation and a place where you can arrange your bicycle when you go to the library" , National Library Director Elena Pintilie said.
The youth project was inaugurated on June 14, the birthday of writer Spiridon Vangheli.
