State institutions table optimal solutions for Moldovan fruit producers
Moldova's Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Nicolae Ciubuc has summoned the decision makers from several agencies and Ministries to identify optimal solutions for Moldovan fruit producers.
Precisely the decision markers are from Agency for Intervention and Payment for Agriculture, the National Agency for Food Safety and the Association of Moldovan Fruits Producers and Exporters Moldova Fruct.
Members of Moldova Fruct consider necessary to raise the National Fund for Agriculture and Rural Development; to intensify negotiations with the European Union to increase the export of plums and grapes, including the negotiation of import quotas for apples, free of duty with the Arab Republic of Egypt; to ensure sufficient number of transport permits, and to approve the Program Apples in Schools.
Moreover, it is important to support the state in order to certify agricultural producers to quality standards, as well as to facilitate access to irrigation water, including compensation for losses caused by late spring frosts in April 2017.
At the end of the meeting, Minister Nicolae Ciubuc thanked for the constructive dialogue.
"We will discuss with the competent institutions to establish an efficient framework for monitoring the quality of fruit both in the domestic market and for export" .
