Statistics: Nearly 2 300 car accidents were registered in 11 months of 2017
235 people have lost their lives on roads in 11 months of last year. At the same time, nearly 2 600 persons were injured in car accidents.
According to data of National Patrol Inspectorate, the number of car accidents in Moldova has slightly lessened compared to a similar period from 2016.
In total, there are close to 2 300 car accidents. Most of them, 236, were registered in Chisinau. In Găgăuzia there were 64 car accidents, while in Orhei 55.
According to the data, most road tragedies, close to 380, took place on Fridays. At the same time, most dangerous days are Mondays and Tuesdays.
The data also shows that most accidents, around 400, took place between 18:00 and 20:00. Another threatening time being between 16:00 to 18:00, when 286 accidents were registered, while between 20:00 and 22:00, were registered 228 cases.
According to police officers, the main causes for car accidents are driver's carelessness and speeding.
