Straseni murder case: Parliament ready to make changes in law in order to avoid such cases
Four policemen were suspended from their positions after MAI opened the investigation on the murder of the girl in Straseni.
According to head of the General Police Inspectorate, Alexandru Panzari, they are the Straseni Police Inspectorate chief, head of the Criminal Police and Public Order and the neighborhood police officer.
The suspensions come a day after Minister of Internal Affairs announced that it would investigate whether or not the local police intervened in time in this case.
"If we will find that there was a failure to act by the police in Straseni, we will come with our actions. Penalties if we detect violations. I personally, am sure the administration of the General Police Inspectorate does not tolerate such violations, if will be any"said Interior Minister Alexandru Jizdan.
Head of legislative Andrian Candu said that Parliament is ready to consider changes in the legislation to avoid such tragic cases.
"It's a very sensitive issue that has an impact on society. I regret what happened and I give my condolences. The specialized authorities, especially the Interior Ministry and Prosecutor's Office should come up with proposals to amend the legislation where they consider appropriate"said the Parliament chief.
Cristina Parhomenco, aged 14, disappeared last Friday, and on 30 November 2016 was found dead in a deserted building in Straseni.
In this case, are involved four teenagers with ages between 13 and 17 years, including the victim's boyfriend.
According to prosecutors, the teenagers admitted their guilt and told in detail how everything happened.
They consumed alcohol in the park in Straseni, then went to a building under construction where the girl was brutally murdered.
Two teenagers were arrested for 30 days. The youngest of them, the 13-year-old boy, is not prosecuted because of his age. And the oldest suspect, who fled to Romania where he studies, was put on international search.
Prosecutors asked the court to dictate 30 days of arrest in his absence.
