After reducing the price for foreign vehicle authorization by 70%, the number of cars in Moldova had a sudden rise.

During the first eight months of the year, over 18 thousand of cars were registered in Moldova, with six thousand more than at the same time last year.

According to the data, 50% of the cars are 8 to 10-year-old, while 23% of them are 5 to 7-year-old. Moreover, each 5th car brought to Moldova was taken straight from the manufacturer. 

Sales in car salons has also raised. Only in January- August were sold over 3 thousand cars, with 30% more than in 2016. 

Only last month each second Moldovan purchased an off-road vehicle, the most popular brand being Skoda, 60 cars being sold.

Second place is held by Toyota from Japan, selling 59 cars. South Korea's Hyundai having sold 49 cars, fourth place is held Suzuki with 34 cars.

Followed by Mercedes. Despite being worth tens of thousands euro, the German brand managed to sell one car per day.
