Swindler detained for 72 hours in Chisinau
24-year-old citizen of Leova was taken into custody by the municipal police from Chisinau.
According to various sources and opened cases, the man is accused and currently under investigation for swindling.
It was established that the man, on the 19th August, stole a cell phone from a woman, by pretending to need to make an emergency call and afterwards taking off into an unknown direction.
The incident took place near the Central Market, where the woman addressed to the police. The stolen object is a “Samsung Galaxy J2” worth 2600 lei.
After questioning the man admitted to have stolen the phone and having sold it to an unknown individual. As result the man was taken to the detention facility of Chisinau for 72 hours until all circumstanced are established.
The man is currently investigated for swindling and if found guilty risks a fine from 17 000 to 27 000 lei or to spend the next 2 to 6 years behind bars.
