The Chisinau inhabitants are likely to pay more for garbage, as the Municipal Council (CMC) has tackled the issue today.

Deputy mayor Nistor Grozavu says the company carrying the waste may go bust, unless the tariffs are raised.

Now a person living in a block apartment pays MDL5.60 a month. The people living in cottages pay MDL11. 20.

The tariffs are computed to grow up to 16 lei for block dwellers and 32 lei – for cottage dwellers.

City folks agree to pay more only to have a clean locality.

As many as 1,300 tonnes of garbage are daily evacuated from Chisinau.
