Ten thousand Mărțișor have been exchanged with cash in London to raise a fund for charity in Romania. This fourth edition has been organized by young Romanians and Moldovans. The money will be sent to two day centers in Iasi soon.
In 2019, the donations were made for a foster home in Chisinau.
The young people said the purpose of this campaign is to preserve and share the Mărțișor tradition with other nationalities. The volunteers handed over Mărțișor in two areas of London with large Romanian populations.
Usually, both women and men wear Mărțișor pinned to their clothes, close to the heart, until the last day of March.
