A photo on social networks has awakened the Internet's anger. In the picture appear two women who carry garbage with tricolor, while cleaning the yard of a gymnasium. The incident took place in the town of Cupcini, Edinet district.
The case came to the attention of the police, which opened a criminal case for profanating the state symbol.
"It was a 10-year-old flag in the warehouse, and what they thought, it was broken and they put the rubbish on it and drove to the garbage. They did not think I was doing a bad act and being punished by law, in ignorance they did, "said Rotaru Ion, director of the" Mihail Sadoveanu "gymnasium in Cupcini.
"The case was a criminal trial, the perpetrators were established and identified. The people were questioned, the investigations were carried out on the spot, the flag was lifted," said Denis Plohoi, deputy head of the criminal investigation IP Edinet.
Locals are disappointed by the gesture:

The mayor of the city says he has organized several meetings with educators where he talked about respecting state symbols.
"The staff of the institution is good, the teachers are patriots, like the director. It is a sad case that has happened inadvertently," said Ivan Ostavciuc, Mayor of Cupcini.
This is not the first case of defamation of the flag. At one of the rallies organized by PPDA, party leader Andrei Nastase was surprised by the flag wrapped around his hips. And at the beginning of the year, a man set fire to the tricolor at the Arc de Triomphe in Chisinau.
The profanation of state symbols is punished by a fine of over 50,000 lei, unpaid community work, or even a year of jail.
