Thousand retirees to receive higher pensions with new recalculation
Over 2000 pensioners before 1999 and worked for at least 15 years after that will receive higher pensions. The rate of increase depends on the contributions of the beneficiaries in the social insurance budget, they even receive double pensions in many cases. The statement was made by the CNAS president, Valentina Buliga, on In the Spotlight show of Publika TV.
"Around 80 percent of pensioners in this category already receive these pensions. In January 2019, over 3000 applications were filed. Process continues. If someone fails to submit files in January, he will still possibly receive new pensions", said Valentina Buliga said.
Applicants must submit files, identity card and employment card to offices of the National Social Insurance House. Those who retired by 1999 and have a contribution period of less than 15 years will be recruited in the following year.
In the case of pension beneficiaries established after 1999, the revision will be made in 2021, depending on the duration of the contribution period completed after the pension was established. Valentina Buliga says the implementation of these stages could be completed sooner.
"We hope very much that due to economic growth and stability, we will be able to modify this chart. According to our calculations, nearly 150,000 pensioners worked after retirement, "Valentina Buliga pointed out.
According to the Government's decision, approved last week, from April 1 pensions will be indexed by 5.3 percent, almost double the amount previously provided. This was possible because the average of inflation over the past three years will be considered.
