More than 25,000 drivers were pulled over for speeding on national routes during the first half of this year.

According to patrol officers, about 1,500 drivers broke the speed limit on a given road segment, by more than 40 km/h during this period.

The drivers breaking the law were sanctioned with fines of up to 1,500 lei and were applied up to 5 penalty points.

INP representatives remind drivers that compliance with traffic rules can save one's life.
