The three scammers who presented themselves as Russian security agents and blackmailed a person who was investigated were placed in the prison. Two received a 25-day arrest warrant, and the third suspect - 20 days.
"In order to exclude the evasion and crimes committing, it was considered appropriate to request the application of preventive measures in the form of preventive arrest," said anti corruption prosecutor Roman Statnii.
The so-called agents of the Russian Security Service, including a policeman and a student, attempted to cheat 20,000 euros from the relatives of a man investigated for drug trafficking.
With those money, they promised they could influence the cover-up of the case.
The suspects were not too talkative.
"Mr. acknowledges his part of guilt and, respectively, follows that the statements or facts that he has committed are appreciated by the criminal prosecution body," said Veaceslav Scripnic, lawyer.
According to CNA prosecutors, if the three men are found guilty they risk up to seven years in prison.
