Top activists split from DA Platform Party, vow to create new force
They are disappointed with both the government and the opposition. Several front-rank activists from the Dignity and Truth (DA) Party of the Țopa fugitive mobsters want to launch a new party bearing the name Voința Poporului, which is Romanian for the People’s Will.
At a kickoff news conference, they criticized their former partners and the parties now in power.
"We have been treated by the rulers not as values, since our rights are violated, the deciding freedom is hindered," said a member of the initiative group, Victoria Anton.
A former member of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC,) Ștefan Urâtu, who actively participated in the DA Platform’s protests, is among the new party’s founders.
He speaks about the situation of the Țopa gangsters, the shadow creators of the DA Party:
"They managed to bring Platon from Ukraine in less than a week. If there are enough arguments regarding the Țopas, why should they not be brought to Moldova?" Ștefan Urâtu asked.
The members of the initiative group also criticized the actions of Partidul Nostru leader Renato Usatîi.
"Renato Usatîi’s party and other parties having appeared on big money must know the world is not like the one 50 years ago. People has read something and does not respect these parties, despite their lavish concerts," said Iulia Tănase.
After gathering 4,000 members the party may ask the Justice Ministry to register it.
Scores of front-rank activists have lately left the Dignity and Truth Party, accusing leader Andrei Năstase of surreptitiously spending the money collected at protests in Chisinau’s downtown.
