Foreign and Moldovan tourists get fonder of the agricultural pensions. According to official statistics, last year their number doubled compared to 2015. However, most guests use hotels. 

In 2016, about 160,000 tourists opted for hotels and motels, 22 % year over year.

32,000 went for the Moldovan sanatoriums, the number slightly falling y/y.

Over 300,000 people used tourism accommodation entities, that’s 10 % more than in 2015. 60 % were Moldovan natives.

Most guests came from Romania: 25 %. The come the Ukrainians and the Russians.

The average hotel stay was 6 days in 2016.
