Tourists head to Moldova on Easter vacation
Easter comes, more tourists visit our country.
40 tourists from Romania decided to spend the Easter in nature, at Orheiul Vechi.
The guests experienced the Moldovan traditions. They have prepared eggs, baked pasta and cakes.
They tried painting the eggs and distinguished the difference between Romanian and Moldovan customs.
"It's different a bit from our custom. We didn't know we were doing this. We boiled the eggs, reddish them with egg paint," he said.
Children who first came to Moldova were so enthusiastic.
"The technique is new to me. I'm so excited."
The tourists enjoyed the traditional dishes, the Moldovan wine and the village atmosphere.
"I tasted different traditional dishes, Moldovan wines, and fresh meat. So impressive!"
The guests also attended the Easter ceremony in the evening, Easter fire which is said to cast out evil spirits. This habit is less common in Romania.
"It is very interesting and we have something to learn, to pass on to our children the customs of Moldova."
The tourists will have a special program today. They will rejoice the vacation with lamb, cake and other traditional Moldovan dishes. They spend 3000 lei per day in the hostel.
