Tragedy during flight. A 4,5 years old girl died aboard the plane from Chisinau to Vienna, where she was going to have a heart surgery. The incident happened two days ago.

According to the Ministry of Health, the girl was hospitalized on October 9 at the Mother and Child Institute. The condition of the patient was serious and needed complicated heart surgery.

The intervention could not be carried out in Moldova, so the parents turned to a clinic in Vienna, where the girl had been operated on the heart three times.

The child was examined at the airport by a team of Moldovan physicians who decided that the state of health allows him to reach safety in Vienna.

During the flight, the child began to feel bad, and the plane landed urgently in Budapest, where doctors tried to resuscitate it, but without success.

The Foreign Ministry announced that the Embassy of Moldova in Hungary is in permanent contact with the girl's parents.

"At the moment, the diplomatic mission makes every effort to urgently carry out the forensic expertise, which is required to transport the inanimate body of the citizen of the Republic of Moldova to Chisinau", said Valeriu Rusu, Foreign Minister's Counselor.

An expert committee of the Ministry of Health will examine the case.
