The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tudor Ulianovschi and Ana Birchall, the vice prime minister of Romania for strategic partnership held a meeting and discussed the development of the bilateral relationship in different fields. The meeting was held within the World Economic Quorum that took place in Davos.
Within the dialogue, Minister Tudor Ulianovschi reiterated the responsibility of the Republic of Moldova in implementing the internal reforms in justice, press, civil society fields. In this context, the chief of the Moldovan diplomacy appreciated the high role of Romania in promoting the European path of Moldova.
Ana Birchall, the vice prime-minister confirmed Romania's support for the reforms process assumed by the Chisinau Government, highlighting the availability to strengthen the strategic partnership for the European Integration of Moldova, inclusively by implementing social-economic projects and extending technical assistance in strategic interests fields.
The commitment of the Government led by Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă for the Strategic Partnership between Romania and the Republic of Moldova and by the fact that supporting the European path of your country is one of the major priorities for us both for the duration of the rotating presidency of the EU Council first semester in 2019 and after its conclusion", emphasized the Romanian Deputy Prime Minister.
Referring to the dynamics of special and privileged relations between the Republic of Moldova and Romania, developed within a bilateral Strategic Partnership, the two officials exchanged views on the prospects of deepening it in the political, economic, especially energy and transport infrastructure , cultural, social, etc. Emphasizing the importance of the bilateral Strategic Partnership in expanding and deepening bilateral cooperation in all areas, and starting from the idea that in 2020 the Republic of Moldova and Romania will mark the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Joint Declaration on its establishment, the interlocutors agreed the idea of bilateral consultations on updating and completing the document with new areas of application.
