The Republic of Moldova is and will remain committed to the implementation of provisions of agreements signed with European Union, further relying on the EU support in promoting reforms aimed at enhancing the living standards of the citizens of our country. The statement was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Tudor Ulianovschi, during a meeting with the Vice-President of the European Commission, the European Commissioner for the Euro Area, social dialogue, financial stability, financial services and capital markets Valdis Dombrovskis.
During the meeting, the two officials reviewed the relations between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union and the joint commitment to deepening the Moldovan-EU dialogue was reconfirmed.
European Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis expressed a great interest in the elements of the fiscal reform as well as in the recent consultations of the Republic of Moldova with the International Monetary Fund, while expressing its concerns about invalidating the results of the local elections in Chisinau. The European high official has encouraged the authorities of the Republic of Moldova to ensure a good parliamentary elections in February next year and to resort to a profound reform of the judiciary.
Minister Tudor Ulianovschi appreciated the assistance given by the European Union to the Republic of Moldova in the process of transforming and modernizing the country and implementing reforms in regional development, agriculture, vocational education, civil society, police reform, financial and banking sector.
Referring to the European Union's macro-financial assistance, the head of Moldovan diplomacy reiterated the government's determination to continue implementing the necessary conditions for disbursing it.
