Customs officers from Leuşeni managed to reveal a scheme used to smuggle big amounts of drugs. As a result, two residents of Hâncești district, who attempted to sneak out of country 420 grams of marijuana, were arrested. 

According to representatives from Customs Service, the drugs were found in a coach going Chisinau - Bucharest. The marijuana was wrapped in aluminium foil that was processed with ground coffee, meant to hide the specific smell.

The two suspects were placed under house arrest, a criminal file being opened in their name for smuggling. If found guilty, they risk to 10 years of imprisonment.

Investigations continue.
