Two years of free trade with European Union
The achievements and challenges in implementing the Free Trade Agreement with the European Union will be broached today at a conference in Chisinau. It is two years from liberalizing the trade between the EU and Moldova.
The conference will be attended by Economy minister Octavian Calmâc and the head of the EU Delegation to Moldovan, Pirkka Tapiola.
Signing the Free Trade Agreement, the Moldovan authorities forecast a 16-percent increase of the exports to the EU markets, as the GDP growth was deemed to be 5.4 % in the long term.
The latest statistics show Moldova exported goods worth over $680 million to the EU in the first half of the year, what’s accounting for 64% of the export total.
