UAE Foreign Minister and Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister discuss bolstering relations
UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation on Monday met with the Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Andrei Galbur to discuss enhancing bilateral relations between their countries.
During the meeting, which was held as part of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah's official visit to Moldova, the two sides also exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments, and a number of issues of common concern.
The UAE Foreign Minister stressed the importance of further developing UAE-Moldova relations and expressed his keenness for enhancing them in all fields, especially in the political, economic and social spheres, to serve the interests of both peoples.
Galbur welcomed Sheikh Abdullah's visit, also stressing his country's eagerness to enhance joint cooperation with the UAE in various fields.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the two sides signed two agreements, one on avoiding double taxation, and another protecting and encouraging investment between the two countries.
"We discussed today several dimensions of our bilateral relations, and ways we can advance them and move them forward towards deeper cooperation, as well as a number of important issues on the international platform," Sheikh Abdullah said.
He continued, "The recent decision by the Government of Moldova to exempt UAE nationals from requiring an entry visa has been a catalyst for progressing bilateral cooperation between the two countries, especially when it comes to the relationship between the peoples of both countries," adding that he looks forward to Moldova's participation in Expo 2020 Dubai.
The Moldavian Minister lauded the fruitful meeting with Sheikh Abdullah, stressing the importance of bilateral work, especially in the aviation industry, as part of efforts to begin direct flights between the two countries.
