Ukrainian citizen caught smuggling copper waste at Cosăuţi border

An Ukrainian citizen was arrested at "Cosăuţi" border for 30 days for attempting to smuggle non-ferrous metals. The 35-year-old man was in possession copper waste worth over 300 thousand lei.
Investigations has shown that the man has previously smuggled from Republic of Moldova to Ukraine non-ferrous metals worth over 3 million lei. The goods lacked origin labeling.
In his car and warehouse, officers managed to find copper waste, along with cell phone numbers, list containing his personal activity and two 100 US dollar bills, with signs of being forged.
A criminal file for smuggling was open upon this case. If found guilty, the man risks up to 10 years of imprisonment.
