Unpleasant surprise before the New Year. President Igor Dodon could be suspended again
Igor Dodon President could be suspended on the New Year's Even. Andrian Candu said that Igor Dodon could be suspended, because he encroached the Constitution. The reaction came after Dodon criticized the activity of the deputies at the end of their mandate.
"Taking into consideration that the President encroached the Constitution for the fifth time, I consider that he is an illegal President", said Andrian Candu.
In this context, the chief of the Parliament asked the Judicial Direction of the Parliament to establish if there are any circumstances to involve the Constitutional Court.
"I reminds you that according to the article no.89, the Republic of Moldova Constitution says that: in the case of committing acts that violate the provisions of the Constitution, the President of the Republic of Moldova may be dismissed by Parliament. Dear colleagues, I say that if we leave, we can take President Dodon with us", said Andrian Candu, Parliament Speaker.
Some deputies amused themselves on the subject and asked who would address the greeting message on New Year's Eve.
"The interim president could congratulate the people of Moldova on the New Year, you are right, Mr Carp, we have two, according to the Constitution," said Andrian Candu, Parliament Speaker.
The mandate of the current Parliament ended on November 30, but not the autumn parliamentary session. The legislature can no longer adopt organic laws, but plenary sessions can be organized.
