Unusual sight for December. Heron decided to remain in CimiÅŸlia for winter
While most birds have left Moldova in favor of warmer places, a heron decided to stay behind in Cimişlia town and is in no rush to follow their example. Ignoring the beautiful sight, locals fear that the heron will freeze to death during winter and wish to find a shelter for it.
The heron, standing on a feet in its bird nest build on two pillars, is an unusual sight for the end of December. Locals believe that the heron remained because it lost its mate,  but specialist have another explanation.
"It is not healthy enough to leave, not strong enough to be able to migrate" deputy director of the zoo-industry, Eugen Matveev explained.
Specialists claim that the heron can resist in temperatures that do not go below -5 degrees Celsius, but not for long. To protect the bird, locals can take it to the Zoo from the Capital.
"They can bring it, where specialists and veterinarians can take care of it. The first step when an animal, or bird is brought to the zoo is a medical check up, to see why it has not left"Â Eugen Matveev declared.
Strangely, temperatures in this period are very warm and will maintain to the end of the week.
"The temperatures is above average. If now there should have been between 0 and -2 degrees Celsius, in the past few days it exceeded by 6 to 8 degrees above average. In the following days, to 29th, we do not foresee much change"Â head of the Weather Forecast Center, Ghenadie RoÅŸca said.
During this period of time in 2015, were registered temperatures to 17,5 degrees Celsius.
