Valeriu Ghileţchi remains Vice President of the Parliament. The initiative of Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova was not supported by the Parliament's majority.
According to PLDM, Ghileţchi was chosen for this position by less deputies than officially declared. In his turn, Vice President of the Parliament claims that Liberal Democrats simply wish to manipulate public opinion.
"I would be very happy if our Parliament had electronic voting system, as in many Parliaments from Europe. From a legal point of view, there are no issues. All that remain is politics" Valeriu Ghilețchi declared.
Valeriu Ghileţchi was named Vice President of the Parliament in 2017. He was voted by 51 deputies. The changes took place after Iurie Leancă submitted his letter of resignation and was named Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration.
