Venice Commission's recommendations for the elections
The election campaign is monitored according to a methodology recommended by Venice Commission. The survey is realized by CReDO organization and has four main dimensions: the voting statistics, the analyze of the administrative resources, the influence of the press and the election funding.
"The Venice Commission recommends to take into consideration these dimensions, in order to provide fair elections. In Moldova, it is the first time when the authorities use these recommendations", said Sergiu Ostaf, CReDO director.
According to the survey's authors, the new method will allow making a better analyze of the elections. The preliminary report will be present the next week, while the final one after the elections.
The parliamentary elections on February 24 are based on a mixed voting system. This means that 50 deputies will be elected on party list and 51 on constituencies.
