Victor Nichitus: History registered 13 pro-European deputies who turned their backs to the European Union
13 liberal and liberal democrat deputies turned their backs on the European Union. These deputies didn't pass the political maturity test. This opinion belongs to Victor Nichitus, journalist.
"This is a sad moment in the history of Moldova, as 13 pro-European deputies turned their backs on the European Integration target. We should mention that we don't follow this target for Brussels or other European Capitals, but for Moldova. This could have been an important project of law for our country, but we missed this opportunity. This is a sad moment for us all, as 13 deputies didn't pass the maturity test. We can only make conclusions and we will use these in the election campaign. We will always remind the PL and PLDM deputies about this failure", said Victor Nichitus, journalist.
According to Nichitus, the 13 deputies who didn't vote for introducing the "European Integration" phrase can be considered anti-European opposition.
"The history of Moldova is a cynical one. All the political parties defend themselves. It is pretty clear that these parties wanted negotiations. I At a certain moment, I thought that these negotiations took place. I remembered the Snagov agreement (1994) that established that the future of Moldova will be a pro-European one. Maybe, they could have negotiated this subject. I would have understood them if they had some advantages", said Victor Nichitus, journalist.
PUBLIKA.MD reminds that the voting for this draft law, initiated by the Democrats and PPE was postponed after the debates from the last week.
Within the discussions, that took three hours, the liberal democrats, the liberals, the socialists and the communists said that they are against this change in the Constitution.
Andrian Candu, the President of the Parliament said he is disappointing that the political interests and the frustration of the opposition stop such important projects for the future of Moldova.
