Vitalie Vrabie at the meeting with EUBAM chief: We are ready to carry out joint control at any customs point
The Customs Service is prepared to carry out joint control at any customs point. The statement was made by Customs Director Vitalie Vrabie at the meeting with the head of the European Union Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM) Slawomir Pichor.
"The Customs Service is ready to carry out joint control at any customs point We are ready to meet all conditions if they are for the benefit of travelers and economic operators We continue to support EUBAM and hope to succeed in expanding joint control in as many customs posts as possible", said Vitalie Vrabie.
In this context, the Head of Customs recalled the proposal to start expanding joint control with the Tudora customs post, which has the necessary infrastructure to host all partner services.
"Joint control has proved to be an effective mechanism for facilitating legitimate trade and travel, as well as for enhancing border security in the region. This has recently been demonstrated by the successful launch of joint control in Palanca-Maiaki-Udobnoe PTF. is still willing to support advancing this concept", said the Head of EUBAM.
Under the Intergovernmental Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine on October 6, 2017, joint control can be extended to all border crossing points. Currently, joint control is applied to six customs points , all at the border with Ukraine. It is about Criva-Mamaliga, Larga-Kelmenţ, Briceni-Rossoşan, Giurgiulesti-Reni, Cuciurgan-Pervomaisc and Palanca-Maiaki-Udobnoe.
Another topic on the agenda was anti-fraud operations, organized under the aegis of EUBAM.
