Vlad Filat remains behind bars. CSJ rejected his lawyers' appeal
Vlad Filat remains imprisoned. The college of the Justice Supreme Court published the last decision according to reject of lawyers' appeal.
The magistrates declared that the appeal is inadmissible and mentioned the decision of the first instance. The decision can't be changed.
We remind that in September of 2017, Igor Popa, the lawyer of Filat asked the CSJ attorneys for the removal of the judgments of the national courts and the retrial of the case and the passing of a new decision by which Vlad Filat was acquitted and released from detention.
The former Prime minister was detained in summer of 2016 for nine years, blamed for passive corruption and traffic of influence.
The former prime minister was detained in October 2015. Everything started from Ilan Sor's self-denouncement that Filat swindled him for money, goods, luxury cars and jewelry worth 250 million USD.
