Vlad Plahotniuc: Government will implement "A new life" Campaign at national level

The successful project of Vlad Plahotniuc Foundation "Edelweiss" - "A New Life" was taken by the Government and will be implemented in the whole country. The Cabinet of Ministers decided to provide families with necessary things for their newborn babies right after birth. The baby's box will be offered in maternity wards since December 1st. The goal of the campaign is to increase birth rates.
"We have succeeded in increasing the unique indemnity at birth, we have reached the amount of 5300 lei that is current. Virtually another two thousand lei is added, this will be the cost of a box, which can be seen in terms of increasing the unique indemnity to the birth of the child" said Pavel Filip, Prime Minister.
Health Minister Silvia Radu wrote on her Facebook page that this social program is a help for parents and babies who will be born.
At the same time, the President of the Democratic Party, Vlad Plahotniuc, said he was glad that the project "A new life", initiated by his foundation two years ago, became a state program.
The boxes provided by the authorities will contain products worth two thousand lei, including baby clothes, hygiene products, diapers, a blanket and bed linen. The gifts will reach both parents who are Moldovan citizens and foreigners with the right to stay in our country. State budget expenditures for this purpose for 2018 will be about 5.7 million lei, and next year will cost almost 68 million lei. In 2017, over 34,000 children were born in Moldova.
