Vlad Plahotniuc, in New York: to call for withdrawal of Russian troops from eastern Moldova

PDM Chairman Vlad Plahotniuc demanded the withdrawal of Russian troops from eastern Moldova in his visit to New York.
In his speech at the Congress of Socialist International, as vice-president of this important international structure, the Democrat also called for change of the current peacekeeping format in the Transnistrian region, from a military one to a civil one.
Vlad Plahotniuc enunciates Moldova has relied on multilateral diplomacy for the past 25 years and has been trying different ideas and conceptual proposals to resolve the Transnistrian conflict.
Likewise, the Democrat leader put forward the Russian peacekeeping troops in the Transnistrian region should be turned into a civilian mission under international mandate.
The Democratic leader participates in the Socialist Council as the vice-president of the organization. The Socialist International was established in 1951, and currently more than 150 parties in 100 countries are part of the organization. Its purpose is to tie relations between parties from different corners of the world that have the same political orientation. Furthermore, it serves to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts and promote democracy.
The Democratic Party of Moldova has fully participated since 2012.
