8500 Afghanistan war veterans will be decorated with the Commemorative Cross "Participant in Afghanistan's Battle Actions (1979-1989)". A ruling in this regard was approved today by the Executive.
Distinctions will be given to veterans at events celebrating the Day of Commemorating the Fallen in the Afghan War. For making them, in the State Budget for the year 2019 there are planned 2.6 million lei.
Also today, the decision to build a commemorative plaque dedicated to dead soldiers from Afghanistan war was approved at Cahul. It will be located on the square of Victory Boulevard of the city, and the costs are to be covered by the Union of veterans of the Afghanistan war in Cahul.
On February 15, 2019, the 30th anniversary of the withdrawal of the Soviet military troops from Afghanistan will be marked.
