Warrant arrest on Orhei town mayor Ilan Shor has been prolonged

The Buiucani sector Court has extended for another 30 days the arrest warrant on the mayor of Orhei town, Ilan Shor. The mayor is suspected of being involved in bank fraud case at BEM.
PUBLIKA.MD recalls that Ilan Shor is accused of fraudulently obtaining more than 5 billion lei from BEM which would have washed through offshore companies.
In late August, the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office announced that the investigation has been completed and the case has been send to court.
If found guilty, the mayor of Orhei town risks up to 15 years in prison.
