Waste caused a new scandal in Bălţi. Dozens of citizen protested against the tax that authorities have imposed for waste collection. People complain that they are obligated to pay more then necessary, as the list of citizen was not update for many years.
"- My husband passed away a year and a half ago, but I need to pay for him as well. Why? -At the moment, the enterprise does not have an updated database", a citizen said.
"My husband passed away four years ago and my daughter is abroad, but they are included in the bill. Now I need to prove that they are not here. I am retired, but they said that I cannot get discounts. I sat here and waited for over two hours and in vain", a woman said.
"There are some unexplained amount of money included in the bill. For January and February we have to pay twice as much. They even say that taxes will rise", another woman complained.
"They send us from one office to another. They said that we don't need to worry, as they will receive an update in the database. Can they not come to an agreement with that economic agent?", a man questioned.
"They cannot deal with this issue. Ill people, elders that cannot walk properly all sit here, but all they do is give us strange looks", another man said.
Deputy director of the enterprise claims that a new database will be made.
"We will work with each citizen, so that our database will be updated, to see how many citizen live on certain addresses" deputy director of DRCD Bălți, Ciprian Ţurcanu said.
On December 15 2017, Bălți City Hall annulled the contract with Solubrity Solution, the waste from then on being collected by the Road Repair and Construction Department.
