Wheelchairs donated for over 600 locomotive disorder people
More than 600 people with locomotive organ disorders will receive wheelchairs which were donated by a charity association in the United States. The first twenty wheelchairs have already reached the beneficiaries.
There are about 15 thousand people with locomotive organ disorders in Moldova.
"We don't have the concrete statistics because the living standard, the medical services are not high quality. The number of persons with disabilities increases," said Mihai Mărgineanu, President of the Association of People with Movement Disorders.
The American Charity Association has been active in Moldova for 12 years. Last year, it offered 1,100 wheelchairs.
"Mostly, beneficiaries need to be for people with financial problems who don't have wheelchairs", said representative of the charity association, Rick Johnson.
For assembling donated wheelchairs, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection allocated about 250,000 lei.
