Alexandru Tanase was Minister of Justice between 2009 and 2011 and from October 2011 till May 2018, he was the President of the Constitutional Court.

Between 2007 and 2009, he was the President of PLDM in the Chisinau Municipal Council.

From 2009 to 2011 Alexandru Tanase was deputy in the Parliament.

He graduated the Law Major of Alexandru Ioan Cuza University from Iasi.

Alexandru Tanase is 46 years old and has two children.
