President Igor Dodon convenes the Supreme Security Council to discuss the airport concession. Few days ago, Avia Invest, the company manages the Chisinau International Airport, announced to sell Investments Limited of the Rothschild family, 95% of the airport shares. 

Meanwhile, the Economy Minister Vadim Brînzan admitted it's unlikely to nationalize the airport because of the lack of legal leverage to annul the transaction. 

The airport was leased for 49 years in 2013. Since then, the company controlled by Ilan Şor has invested in the infrastructure of the airport over 88 million euros and has transferred in the state budget taxes of almost 600,000.

Economists forecast the number of passengers going through this airport will exceed 3 million this year after it reached 2.8 million in 2018.
