Russia is trying to meddle with the elections which will take place this autumn in Moldova, just like they have done in USA back in 2016. The declaration was made by US congressman Will Hurd within a TV program on MSNBC.

"The Russians obviously tried to influence our elections by eroding trust in our institutions. They are going to try to do it again. They are trying to do that right now in Moldova" Will Hurd declared.

The US official spoke of the need to elaborate a strategy allowing United States to counter future Russian disinformation.

According to Will Hurd, the practice used by Moscow is a known one: "This is straight out of their playbook. They have been doing it for 3 decades."

Washington believes that Russian authorities have assisted Donald Trump in winning the elections, fact denied by Moscow. Pentagon opened a case to establish if those accusations bear any truth.
