The Moldovan wine makers have learned how to develop their affair not only due to the modern seedlings, but also due to the modern technology.
For example, the Pergola system protect the grapes of the sun rays, mold and rain fall. The technology was used in Chile, Italy, Spain, the USA.
Ion Vieru from Miclesti village, Criuleni district has also experienced this system on his three ha vineyard.
"The quality of the grapes is the same, it is not affected by sun rays or rain fall", said Ion Vieru, farmer.
The winemaker says that he invested 900 thousand lei and received 700 thousand from USAID.
The USAID representatives say that they want to introduce this system in four other vineyards.
"We came with this proposal to the ministry of Agriculture. The system involves investing 100 thousand lei per ha", declared Andrei Botezatu, USAID specialist.
According to the data of the Association of Grapes Producers from Moldova, the total surface of the table grapes is 22 thousand ha.
