Wizz Air company brings an aircraft to Chisinau and launches five new flights to Europe. Direct flights to Memmingen (Germany), Dortmund (Germany), Copenhagen (Denmark), Paris Beauvais (France) and Brussels Charleroi (Belgium) will be launched by the end of this year. With the launch of the new races, the company will offer air passengers over 700 thousand seats to 13 destinations in 8 countries.
"Today's event is a good news for 3 million passengers, especially for Moldovan citizens who chose to travel by air. The launch of new flights means more opportunities to travel at the lowest rates and in different directions. I welcome Wizz Air's decision to base the second aircraft in Chisinau. The company's total investments in the Republic of Moldova exceed 200 million USD and by expanding its operations by 68% compared to last year, the company offers passengers of Chisinau International Airport more than 700 thousand seats. This is a beautiful example of a partnership between Wizz Air and the Republic of Moldova ", said Chiril Gaburici, the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure.
At the same time, the Minister mentioned that the expansion of the air base supports the economic development of the whole country, by offering new jobs, and urged airlines to offer quality services to passengers.
"We are delighted that with this launch, the company will increase the number of full-time jobs to 70 and will indirectly employ over 500 citizens. At the same time, an important task for airline companies is the quality of passenger services and flight safety. I invite Wizz Air not to stop here, to continue investing in the Republic of Moldova. Each new race means higher competition on the market. Competition is beneficial - the fight for each costumer means better quality services and lower prices", the Minister Chiril Gaburici reiterated.
The company also announced that the number of flights will be supplemented for the most demanded flights in Chisinau: London-Luton, Milan-Bergamo, Venice-Treviso, Berlin-Schönefeld and Rome-Ciampino.
