While many European countries hardly cope with the refugee waves, their number dwindled twice in Moldova.
The chief of the Moldovan office of the UN Refugee Agency, Traian Țurcanu: "Most applications come from persons from Syria and Ukraine. We have got 30 applications this year, that’s twice less year over year. Moldova is not necessarily a destination country, it’s a rather transit country for the refugees."
There are 500 refugees in Moldova now.
