Half of the 230 million dollars stolen from the budget of the Russian Federation in 2007-2008 were washed through the Savings Bank of Moldova. This shows a new investigation zeppelin.md, which shows that the operations were carried out by some off-shore companies of the CIS number one raider, Veaceslav Platon.
According to journalists, one of these companies was directly involved in the Russian Laundromat and Billard Theft.
Moreover, it appears in the Sergei Magnitsky File, the auditor who revealed the theft of the Russian budget and who died in a Moscow penitentiary.
According to zeppelin.md, the entire operation started in the autumn of 2007 with the support of the then president of BEM Grigore Gacikevici and of the shareholders Victor and Vorel Topa, under the cover of the NBM governor, Leonid Talmaci. Thus, Platon created two offshore companies to open accounts for BEM.
For two years there have been dozens of dubious transfers from Moscow for a series of fictitious services. At least a billion and a half rubles have been converted into over $ 100 million, and then left BEM in tax havens.
The journalists wrote that the bank has repeatedly informed the Chief of the Center for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption, but no action has been taken.
That's because Deputy Head of Money Laundering Service Mihail Gofman was paid monthly by tens of thousands of dollars in the envelope by Veaceslav Platon.
Subsequently, Plato, coordinated by the Russian Special Services, implemented the destabilization plan of our country.
The Savings Bank was devalued by Grigore Gacikevici's bad loans, and Romanian mogul Sorin Ovidiu Vantu bankrupt InvestPrivatBank by granting bad loans worth over 500 million lei.
Thus, in June 2009, the NBM withdrew the bank's license, and the Communist government decided that it would be taken over by BEM with all debts.
Later part of the stolen money returned to Moldova. With the help of them, the fugitive convicts Victor and Viorel Topa launched Jurnal TV in 2010.
In the same year, Veaceslav Platon started the Russian laundry in Chisinau, but this time hundreds of millions of dollars were washed by Moldindconbank, controlled by the same Plato.
Zeppelin.md also wrote that after the control over BEM was taken over by former Prime Minister Vlad Filat, one of Platon's companies being involved in the 2010-2012 theft schemes.
The journalists mentioned that Filat was the one who benefited from this money.
Veaceslav Platon was sentenced in April 2017 to 18 years in prison for scam and money laundering in particularly large proportions in the BEM fraud case.
At the end of last year, he received 12 years of jail for scandal in particularly large proportions and active corruption in a file of insurance companies.
