A Republican Diabetes Centre might open in Chisinau
Prime Minister Pavel Filip today had a meeting with Chair of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) Șehnaz Karadeniz.
The discussion was focused on the aspect of boosting the cooperation between Moldova and IDF. Also, the sides tackled problems on enforcement of more concepts of preventing hyperglycemia, as well as on implementing measures to back people sick with diabetes in Moldova.
The Prime Minister thanked the International Diabetes Federation for involvement in development of more projects in Moldova, such as schooling of Moldovan specialists in prevention of diabetes and providing a grant for opening a department of diagnosing complications of the diabetes. Also, the prime minister referred to actions undertaken by the government to back persons sick with diabetes.
For her part, Șehnaz Karadeniz confirmed the willingness of the organisation she was representing to back the carrying out of this important project in Moldova. She stressed that an important goal in this respect should be the prevention and control over diabetes.
The sides also exchanged opinions on the national programme on Diabetes Control for 2017, due to be developed by the Health Ministry, jointly with the relevant NGOs, in line with recommendations by IDF specialists, as well as other international experts.
