17 regional legislators out of 35 were elected yesterday in the poll for the regional parliament of the southern Gagauz Autonomy of Moldova.
13 of them ran as independents, 3 represent the Socialists Party (PSRM) and one – the Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM.)
A turnout of less than 33% will lead to canceling the election in three constituencies, as the poll will be repeated there.
Runoffs will be held in other 15 constituencies.
The total turnout was 43%.
126 competitors ran for a seat in the regional legislature, as the election cost about $100,000.
