Pavel Filip asked for first aid conditions in heat
Prime Minister Pavel Filip has convened an operative meeting with representatives of the authorities responsible for interventions in emergency situations.
Discussions focused on bad weather lately. At the same time, the discussion was about measures already taken and those required for the protection of citizens during heat waves.
According to information provided by the Civil Protection and Emergencies high temperatures in recent years have caused increasing number of fires outdoors. During July, firefighters intervened to extinguish more than 750 fires, mostly caused by recklessness men.
The prime minister was also informed that 17 points of rehabilitation were opened during heat in Moldova. They operate daily between 11.00 - 18.00 and assist people affected by high temperatures. Till now, there have been health care more than 45,000 people were
At the same time, five information campaigns on protective measures and first aid were initiated to prevent deaths due to heat wave.
Pavel Filip asked the structures of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Interior and local authorities to be in permanent collaboration and be prepared to provide first aid to people in distress.
The prime minister asked for special attention to be given to the elderly that during this period of high temperatures.
Meanwhile, to prevent cases of drowning, Prime Minister Pavel Filip pointed out the need for accountability of owners of ponds and pools.
The prime minister highlighted the need to review the school program by introducing special hours on protective measures when swimming and how to give first aid in emergency situations.
