Average salary in Romania is twice as big as in Moldova
The average net earnings, which include salaries, food vouchers, and any other type of vouchers employees get, stayed at EUR 463 in July.
The annual growth rate slowed down to 12.4% after reaching 14.3% in June this year, a record after 2008, according to the National Statistics Institute (INS).
Starting May 1, the gross minimum salary in Romania increased from EUR 236 to EUR 280, which has led to wage hikes throughout the economy, especially in the sectors that pay low wages such as hotels and restaurants, the confections industry, and the food industry, Romania Insider writes.
The average monthly salary in Moldova is about EUR250.
